Birds, Gods, and Chiefs
Gods, chiefs and birds may seem to have little in common, but in ancient Hawaiian culture they were more alike than different — a connection illuminated in a book due out in mid-August and in a related exhibit coming to San Francisco's De Young Museum on Aug. 29.

Malibu Lagoon Restoration
Just for the record, the Birdman Tribe supports the Malibu Lagoon Restoration. I hope for the birds, the wildlife, and the wave to come back to their past glory and I strongly believe that they will. And I applaud the work, support, and the close eye that the Santa Monica Bay Audubon Society is keeping on the project.

CCD

Today was Coastal Cleanup Day and my friend Brandi and I decided to go over to the Malibu Lagoon to do our part. Lots of people showed up and I don't think I've ever seen the beach there that clean. It was an awesome sight and it felt real good to be a part of something that is so important along these shores. Our beaches are littered with trash and if we tried just a little bit harder they would all be litter free and beautiful all the time and not just one day out of the year.
