This Crested Caracara pictured above has been hanging around the Agromin facility off of Arnold Road for the past few days. It's quite a nice surprise as the birds usual range barely extends into Southern Arizona and Texas from Mexico. This bird appears to be a juvenile.
On a sadder note for the Birdman Tribe, Walter the eyes of Ormond Beach, reported that two juvenile Clapper Rails were shot and killed the day before the Caracara was spotted. A license plate was observed and the perpetrators are being sought after by CA Fish and Wildlife.
